Together with Music is an intergenerational membership platform centred around connection, community and music. They connect musical performance links of choirs of all ages to care homes, sheltered accommodation, schools and community groups. We feel very privileged to be the first home care provider to take these wonderful musical performance links out to our clients in the comfort of their own homes. Our CAREGivers are using their phones to share the music links with their clients and early feedback suggests this is being well received. These links are great for lifting mood and aiding reminiscence. We met with one of our lovely clients today, Edna Reynolds. She really enjoyed her CAREGiver sharing the music with her. Edna has previously enjoyed a full and active life of travel taking her across Europe and to New York. She has always had a great love of music, despite revealing that her singing voice is better shared in a backing group – her humour is infectious! She likes most genres, but has an affinity with music from “the shows” and most tunes from the 40s and 50s. Edna has always been very connected to her local community groups so has been particularly affected by the lockdowns. Having her CAREGivers visit has been a real help to combat isolation and she says sharing the music was very uplifting. We hope this will continue to be a boost to Edna and for many of our other clients.
